Career Choice, High School, and Postsecondary Plans
We believe that through setting clear goals, the path forward becomes clearer and more easily focused. Just as it is difficult to steer a parked car, we stress the importance of moving in a direction. We encourage learners to trust the process of choosing a direction, planning and taking steps in that direction, then making adjustments through reflection and meaningful changes.
MyPlanPA is not a career content platform, it is a place to plan and document action steps toward chosen directions and goals.
In MyPlanPA, students identify their current first and second career choices and select the related national career clusters (This allows for both ultimate flexibility and sorting within clusters for program management).
They also identify high school programs and courses they will choose to be part of that will help prepare them for their chosen career direction. Furthermore, they plan their postsecondary action steps and are encouraged to login whenever they complete steps in the process or to make adjustments to the plan.

Learner’s graduation profile pages contain intuitive visuals of pathway options and possibilities, allowing learners to own their pathway progress and feel empowered to take steps toward their future. Also, having a bird’s-eye-view of the individual and collective pathway progress for planning and reporting decreases stress for administrators and increases the rationale for program participation across all work-based learning.
